Seeking the Sun for British Property Owners

By: chriswhatley

We hear a great deal in the media about the influx of people from eastern Europe, yet the record numbers making a permanent escape from the UK seem to receive less attention.

In the year ending July 2006 a total of 385,000 announced themselves fed up with Britain and emigrated to other parts of the world. The figures, produced by The Office for National Statistics, showed the highest number of emigrants since the Office began using current counting methods back in 1991. Australia, Spain and France topped the destination charts, perhaps for their laid back way of life and the surfeit of sunshine that is so attractive to many. It’s not just the young and unattached that are leaving either; many are families with small children and an increasing number of retired folks are succumbing to the lure of warmer climes and a lower cost of living.

Going to live in another country is a challenge that’s full of excitement and possibility, but in some cases the reality of actually getting there turns the excitement into a nightmare. Everyone knows that selling up and moving is a stressful experience even if you go no further than the next street; imagine how much that stress is compounded when you need to sell your home and buy a property in another country, governed by different laws that are likely to be written in a language you can neither read nor understand.

The TV shows are keen to expound on the horrors in store for those who have fallen victim to fraudulent builders or corrupt solicitors. If we learn anything from such programmes it must surely be to take good legal advice both at home and in the country of destination, making sure lawyers are experienced in cross border property conveyances.

Before anyone gets to that point, they have to deal with selling their UK home and freeing up some cash – an activity that can prove easier said than done. In today’s slow property market selling a home and timing that sale to tie in with a purchase can be extremely difficult. In cases where the relocation is necessitated through work, help is sometimes offered by the employer, but most people find themselves completely alone in the struggle to sell their house and begin their new life abroad.

If you want to emigrate and need to sell your home fast, call Property Rescue who will guarantee to buy your home. There are a number of benefits to selling in this way:

- no chain of buyers to delay the sale
- the price offered is the price you will get, no additions to the final bill
- any type of home qualifies, regardless of location or condition
- the legal costs of sale are usually included
- you don’t need to prepare a costly Home Information Pack
- the sale can be concluded as quickly as you want and will fit in with your time schedule.

Don’t let a property sale be the stumbling block to your fantastic new life. Give Property Rescue a call to find out how easy it can be to sell your home.
