Why buy real estate now that the prices are low

If you are planning to buy real estate in present or sometime in near future then there can’t be any time better than this. The real estate prices are low at the moment, there are very few buyers in the market and a number of people want to sell their real estate. If you still don’t think that you should be in market, to buy real estate, hoping that prices will further decrease then you might be making a mistake.

One of the major disadvantages of not buying real estate now is that you might end up facing competition from other potential buyers for the same property that you want. In fact, the possible savings that you would have made, by delaying your purchase, might be erased totally due to bidding war between your rival buyers.

Following are some of the reasons that one might want to move in an area:

• Your job requires you to move there;
• You like the area for its healthy environment;
• Better neighborhood and surroundings because of your family.

The factors, mentioned above, require you to make your move into the new place as soon as you can. The money that you want to save by waiting, for real estate market to decline further, might not be worth the wait.

If you have an opportunity to buy a real estate, at a low price, in areas that have a good public school then it is advisable to make your investment. Families like to buy houses in such areas to give a better environment and education to their children and even if that area’s prices are in decline, they will rise up anytime.

You should also monitor and calculate the money that you are and will be paying in rents when you can save that money by buying your own house. If your mortgage is equal to the rent you are paying then it’s of no use wasting your money. Value of money also decreases with time so delaying your purchase might result in a loss instead of profit.

A good sign of determining whether the prices of a place will rise or not, depends on the market of neighborhoods. If the real estate prices of neighboring markets is increasing then it is better to buy the real estate in your desired market as it will, eventually, rise as well.

Many economists believe that if you plan to stay for five years or more then you will gain a profit on your original investment, no matter how the market turns out. It is also better to locate yourself at one place rather than keep on moving between various places or locations.

If there is a very good house or estate available, that you are attracted to, because of various reasons like its surroundings, location, neighborhood, facilities, architecture etc. and you think that this real estate will cost more in other markets then you should buy it.

It is better to own your place than renting some apartment. The feeling of satisfaction will be there and it will be a better investment in many ways, especially when the real estate prices are low.
